Heavy Equipment Operator

Position Summary:
CDM Excavating & Contracting Inc. is seeking an experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to support our residential and commercial excavation projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical ability, attention to grade, and a firm commitment to safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, and skid steers
- Perform residential basement excavations to specification
- Complete rough grading and final grading work
- Load dump trucks safely and efficiently
- Read and follow site plans and grade stakes
- Maintain equipment in clean and proper working condition
- Comply with all company and site safety requirements
- Work effectively with supervisors and crew members
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of heavy equipment operating experience
- Demonstrated experience in basement excavation and final grading
- Strong knowledge of excavation and site preparation practices
- Proven commitment to safe equipment operation and job site safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license (AZ/DZ considered an asset)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic
