Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Construction Company Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of our construction operations, overseeing daily bookkeeping tasks, and supporting budgeting and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience with various accounting software and a strong understanding of construction industry financial processes. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on precision and efficiency.
Duties
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
- Perform account reconciliations for bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Utilize accounting software QuickBooks, to record financial transactions accurately
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audit purposes
- Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and forecasting future costs
- Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure project costs are accurately reflected in the books
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards regarding financial procedures
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within the construction industry or similar field
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop is required; familiarity with other accounting tools is a plus
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and account analysis processes
- Experience handling payroll functions and related compliance issues is desirable
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and budgeting tasks accurately
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of construction industry financial practices is advantageous but not mandatory
