All student placement positions are unpaid.
Child and Youth Worker placements are offered to students enrolled in third year of their program. Applicants can seek placement in our Day Treatment classrooms or our Live in Treatment program(s).
The Child and Youth Worker is an integral part of the day treatment and Therapeutic Live-In Care programs working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to maintain a therapeutic environment that addresses the needs of the children and youth. The primary focus of this role is to work along with the staff to assist children to develop their emotional regulation, self-esteem, build social skills, develop meaningful relationships and to learn healthy coping skills. The students in these programs will also have opportunities to work directly with families, school board personnel and/or community partners to ensure consistent communication and treatment planning.
