T & A Rock Works Inc. has been established since 1979 and is based out of Kelowna, BC. T & A specializes in rock drilling, controlled blasting, rockfall mitigation, shotcrete & shoring as well as non-explosive rock removal.
The company is seeking an experienced Driller/Blaster.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Driller/Blaster to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has experience in surface drilling and blasting operations, works well under pressure, and is committed to maintaining a safe job site at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate hydraulic and pneumatic drills
- Load and detonate explosives accordance with all regulatory and safety standards
- Maintain equipment and complete daily logs
- Read and interpret drill/blast plans and layouts for residential and quarrying projects
- Work in varying terrain and weather conditions
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and site managers
Requirements:
- Valid Blasting Certificate (Surface, 1st Class)
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 1 or 3 is an asset)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in drilling and blasting (or equivalent training)
- Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, explosive handling, and safety procedures
- Physically fit and able to work in remote and rugged locations
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
