Duties:
We are looking for a dynamic individual to provide direct goal-oriented assistance to youth between 13 and 18 years of age who have diverse abilities or are on the autism spectrum. This assistance can include the development of social and life skills as well as supporting individuals with work experience and activities in the community.
The successful applicant will also be responsible for the planning, organization and reporting for the weekly groups.
This position is 10 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Preferably a diploma in a relevant discipline, with one year of related job experience. Other appropriate combinations of education and experience may be considered. A valid B.C. driver’s license is essential. Pursuant to provincial legislation, the applicant must agree to undergo a criminal records investigation. FOODSAFE Level 1 certification or willingness to complete is a requirement of the job.
This role requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to improving the lives of others. The ability to adapt to different situations, show empathy, and maintain a positive attitude is essential.
Please note that this position may require occasional evenings based on the needs of the individuals being supported.
