Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Company Driver responsible for transporting freight and equipment efficiently and safely. This role requires a professional with a strong focus on safety, vehicle maintenance, and timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will possess skills in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair, ensuring smooth operations across various transportation needs. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety and operational excellence.
Pay: $0.60 per mile
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, including trucks and heavy equipment, to transport freight and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic automotive repairs to ensure optimal functioning of company vehicles
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, transportation documentation, and compliance with all safety regulations
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely pickup and delivery schedules
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading cargo
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during transit
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related roles
- Skills in forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and basic automotive repair are highly desirable
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to freight transport and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments
- Prior experience working with logistics software or transportation management systems is a plus
