The Position:

The Forklift Driver (contract position) is responsible for performing various tasks within the Warehouse / Distribution Centre including shipping, receiving, and order picking using powered material handling equipment to move product within the warehouse environment. All work is to be performed with strict adherence to safety procedures, protocol, and practices.
Responsibilities
· Under the direction of the Manager / Supervisor, responsible for handling inbound and/or outbound product safely and accurately using powered material handling equipment including reach truck, counter balance, and walkies.
· Load and unload pallets from trailers.
· Move product safely from dock areas to designated storage and picking locations.
· Pull, pack, stage, and prepare orders for shipment.
· Ensure accuracy and timely shipping of orders.
· Use RF scanners to pick and put-away product and prepare orders.
· Palletize, wrap, and label orders and shipments, ensuring shipping and compliance requirements are met.
· Ensure product is placed in the correct bins and rack location.
· Conduct and record daily equipment inspections to confirm safe operating condition of material handling equipment and bring to the attention of management any mechanical or safety issues immediately.
· Report issues, problems, concerns, and safety issues to the Manager / Supervisor in a prompt manner.
· Maintain cleanliness, organization, general housekeeping, and safety of the warehouse at all times.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· High School Diploma
· Minimum 2 years of experience with Forklift and Counterbalance in a warehouse / distribution center environment
· Possess valid Forklift and Counterbalance licenses.
· Ability to work in a physical demanding role requiring extended periods of standing, lifting, driving and general physical labour.
· Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, demanding, and time-sensitive environment
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work well within a team setting and independently
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
· Computer literate and experience with RF scanners.
