Description
We are looking for a new member to join our team. We see this roll as one that is both a field technician and a lab technician.
As a Field Tech you would be responsible for conducting site assessments, taking hazardous material samples, handling and disposing of hazardous materials, collecting sufficient data onsite and writing reports based on those findings.
As a Lab Tech you would be mostly working in our in house lab reading air cassettes, analyzing bulk asbestos samples and writing up reports based on your findings

Having prior experience doing home renovations and an understanding of how buildings are constructed as well as prior lab experience would be an important asset.

Key Responsibilities
- Field work including data and sample collection for hazardous material surveys, risk assessments, and indoor air quality monitoring
- Monitor abatement projects, including hazardous building materials and other environmental contaminants
- Prepare detailed reports documenting site conditions, activities performed, and regulatory compliance
- Maintenance of client relationships
- Collect samples for analysis and maintain accurate records of findings
- Aid in the management and coordination of projects
- Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
- Participate in training programs to stay current with industry standards and regulatory changes
- Respond to emergency situations involving hazardous materials, providing technical support and on-site management
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hazmat-related role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites.
- Physical ability to perform fieldwork, including lifting and carrying equipment, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions and tight spaces.
- Ability to work while wearing a Respirator
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or degree in sciences, or a related field preferred.
- Certification in Worksafe BC asbestos licensing courses, an asset

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
