Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation, serving, and presentation of food at various events and catering functions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in the food and coffee industry, particularly in restaurant or kitchen settings, is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the catering and food service industry.
Responsibilities:
Kitchen Prep:
- Support kitchen staff with food handling and prep to ensure high quality service standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and serving areas
- Follow food safety protocols and ensure proper food handling procedures are adhered to at all times
Event Setup & Styling:
- Support the setup, styling, and teardown of catering displays at client venues
- Assist with loading and unloading event materials and food displays
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed during food preparation and service
- Maintain professionalism and positive energy at all events.
- Serve and assist at cart events, including mini pancake carts, dessert carts, ice cream carts, and other interactive catering experiences
Requirements:
- Prior experience in food prep, catering, coffee or hospitality highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be available for flexible hours, including weekends and early mornings.
- Food Safe Level 1 (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is mandatory
