Key Responsibilities
· Resolve Incoming Client requests and respond to escalated IT support tickets
· Document, maintain, upgrade, and replace hardware and software systems; resolve incoming service requests and alerts
· Approach technical issues with root cause discovery and resolution methodology
· Manage user account information, including access rights, security configurations, and system groups
· Provide remote support and on-site support to clients throughout the Okanagan
· Communicate proactively with clients: keep them informed of incident progress and notify them of planned changes or outages
· Onboard and configure new hardware and software for existing and new clients
· Ensure compliance with internal security controls, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
· Manage backups and disaster recovery procedures. Monitor and address daily issues.
· Network support and standardization, including firewalls, Wi-Fi aps and switches. Understanding industry best practices with VPNs, SD-WAN and cybersecurity.
· Integration and automation of processes and business systems both internally and for customers.
· A.I. proficiency using A.I. to identify issues, find solutions, and develop processes for both CMIT and customers.
· Share newly acquired knowledge and best practices with peers to improve team capabilities
· Help customers grow their businesses by serving their IT needs strategically and proactively
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
· 5+ years of IT support, system administration, or technical support experience
· Strong knowledge of Windows OS (Desktop, Laptops, Servers) experience with Mac OS and basic Linux systems
· Proficiency with Active Directory, group policies, and user account management
· Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure
· Expert in cybersecurity principles and best practices
· Ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and business owners on the phone, via email, Teams, and in person
· Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
· Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and handle interruptions
· Self-motivated, dependable, and able to perform duties with minimal supervision
· Passion for technology and enthusiasm for helping customers grow their businesses
· Communicates professionally in both written and verbal English
· Valid Driver's License, personal vehicle, and motor vehicle insurance
· Eligible to work in Canada with no criminal record
Education & Certifications
Required: College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Networking & Telecommunications
Preferred: CompTIA A+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications (Azure, 365, etc.)
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Health Spending Benefits: $1,000 per year to spend on health, wellness, professional development, certifications, or anything you choose.
Work Locations: Hybrid - flexible work from home, head office in Kelowna, and client sites throughout the Okanagan (primarily Kelowna and West Kelowna, with occasional travel throughout the Okanagan.
Work Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with 1-hour unpaid lunch / 35-hour work week and possibly up to 40 hours a week if required.
Overtime: Occasional overtime on weekdays and weekends depending on projects and customer needs.
Physical Demands
The employee must be able to lift and/or move boxes or equipment up to 30 pounds (14 kg) from the floor to a tabletop surface and from the car to the client's desk. The employee must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
