Position Summary
We are hiring a full-time, permanent Renovation & Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on field role involving renovation and building system repairs, unit turnovers, and ongoing property upkeep. You will work across both occupied and vacant suites, common areas, and exterior spaces.
Core ResponsibilitiesRenovation Work (Unit & Common Areas)
- Complete interior renovations including:
- Demolition and disposal
- Framing, drywall, taping, and finishing
- Interior door, trim, and hardware installation
- Fixture upgrades (kitchen, bath, lighting)
- Flooring removal and installation (vinyl, laminate, tile)
- Painting and surface preparation
- Execute scope-of-work packages for unit turnovers and capital projects
- Coordinate with property managers to prioritize renovation timelines
Maintenance Duties
- Troubleshoot and repair:
- Minor plumbing (leaks, clogs, fixture replacement)
- Basic electrical (switches, outlets, lighting)
- Hardware and door adjustments
- Building envelope and weatherproofing (caulking, sealing)
- Conduct scheduled and preventative building inspections
- Maintain clean and safe mechanical, storage, and utility rooms
- Respond to urgent work orders and occasional after-hours emergencies
Administrative & Team Collaboration
- Log tasks and time using mobile maintenance app
- Communicate clearly with tenants, contractors, and office staff
- Support other technicians on renovation and seasonal projects
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in renovation, building maintenance, or multi-trade residential work
- Strong skills in:
- Carpentry and finishing
- Minor plumbing and electrical
- Painting, drywall, and general repair
- Ability to work independently and assess repair/renovation needs onsite
- Basic tool set and toolbelt (specialty tools provided as needed)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable work vehicle
- Smartphone with voice/data plan
- Clean background check and good credit history
- Strong alignment with company values and professional conduct
