The Media Supervisor at Cairns Oneil supports strategic planning, execution, and optimization of paid media across all channels. This role blends strategic thinking with tactical execution, requiring strong collaboration, attention to detail, confidence in all channels, with a focus on digital channels.
The main Responsibilities of the Job include but are not limited to:
Strategy Development, Planning and Execution
· Collaborate with the Account Lead/Director to:
o Deliver strategic media plans leveraging our “Awaken” planning system. Helping to generate consumer insights and strategy development.
o Translate strategic goals into clear tactical plans across all channels, inclusive of paid social, display, programmatic, and search channels.
o Evaluate channel mix and media tactics using data and past performance benchmarks.
o Create strong client presentations, POVs, and communications.
· Understand client categories, objectives, KPIs, and sales funnels. Track media budgets, historical performance, and competitive landscape.
· Identify opportunities to test new channels, platforms, formats, or targeting approaches that align with business goals.
· Detailed understanding of how to set up and execute plans in Paid Social platforms.
· Work closely with Programmatic and Search teams to align execution with strategic intent.
· Manage project trackers and facilitate cross-functional communications.
Creative & Trafficking Coordination
· Work with team to collect, QA, and traffic creative assets with appropriate naming and specs.
· Liaise with ad operations for tag implementation and technical QA.
· Understand naming conventions, click tracking, and tagging protocols.
· Partner with ad ops and tech to ensure proper implementation.
Reporting, Insights & Optimization
· Generate holistic reporting and maintain campaign performance dashboards.
· Ensure clear visualization of pacing, spend, ROI, and engagement metrics.
· Turn performance data into actionable insights and recommendations.
Technical Fluency
· Have a deep working knowledge of: Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, CM360, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Reddit Ads Manager (where applicable) to drive campaign performance.
· Understand targeting, creative formats, bid strategies, and campaign setup in key digital platforms.
· Work towards a deeper understanding of data and technology utilization in Marketing and Media
General Account and Team Oversight
· Lead by example, setting a standard in client and team management.
· Communicate updates, feedback, and knowledge share through regular meetings with team.
· Develop wrap reports, QBRs, and pitch support as needed.
· Lead client calls, deliver updates, and explain media strategies and performance.
· Capture feedback and ensure implementation across teams.
· Maintain accurate budgets, POs, MPAs, and monthly BCR tracking.
· Ensure timely input, reconciliation, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
Continuous Development
· Be curious and engaged; ask questions, seek feedback, and contribute to team learning.
· Showcase passion for the industry; stay current with digital media innovations and consumer trends in the Canadian market.
· Pursue industry certifications: Meta Blueprint, Google Ads / GA4, LinkedIn Marketing. Reddit Ads, IAB Canada Training, TikTok Academy
· Attend events and webinars (CMDC, AdWeek, IAB Canada, etc.).
· Have a partnership mentality; be collaborative with internal and external stakeholders, including sharing key updates from vendors and platforms with your teams and clients.
· Train, onboard and mentor junior staff and interns.
Experience required
· University or College degree in marketing, advertising or a related field
· 5+ years of experience in media planning/buying across all channels
· Must have 3+ years of hands on in platform experience in digital/social channel execution.
· A deep knowledge of the Canadian Media ecosystem
· Understanding of strategy development to build successful media plans
· Advanced level MS office skills in Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc
· Meta and/or Google certifications
· Strong presentation and communication skills
· A natural sense of curiosity and ambition
· Critical thinking to be able to develop insights, hypothesis and problem solve.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 (dependent on experience)
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
