We are looking for an experienced and motivated Foreman to lead crews in the field and ensure our projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to spec.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily site operations, ensuring productivity and quality
- Interpret project drawings, elevations, and grades to guide excavation and pipe installation work
- Lead crews in earthmoving, trenching, backfilling, and utility installations
- Monitor crew performance, address issues, and maintain morale and discipline
- Ensure compliance with all workplace safety procedures and COR standards
- Coordinate with subcontractors, equipment operators, and project managers
- Maintain site documentation including daily field reports, quantities, and safety records
- Proactively solve onsite issues and adapt to changing conditions or project timelines
- Represent Earth Max in a professional manner with clients, inspectors, and engineers
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a foreman in civil construction
- Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, underground utilities, and water/sewer installs
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and site layouts
- Proven leadership skills and ability to direct a team under pressure
- Familiarity with Manitoba workplace safety regulations (WSH Act & COR program)
- Valid Class 5 license (Class 1 or 3 is an asset)
- Physically capable of working outdoors in variable site conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid, WHMIS, COR Leadership, or Safety Excellence training
- Experience operating or directing heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, and compactors
- Competence in digital tools for logging and reporting (tablets, apps, or project management software)
