Assistant Store Manager
The Role:
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager at Pops Cannabis is accountable for assisting the communication and execution of the corporate vision, store events, community partnership support, local marketing, and traffic drivers. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will also be responsible for helping leading exceptional guest experiences by creating emotional connections within our communities. Your knowledge and passion will be critical in guiding our guests through our strategically curated assortment plan which will earn trust, credibility, and loyalty.
The assistant store manager will be expected to understand all aspects of store operations, with the ability uphold organizational/operational/financial standards in the absence of the store manager. They will be a vital part of the inventory management processes of the store, as well as a key component of the training/education of fellow team members. The assistant store manager will delegate tasks and duties to the team members as necessary and will be the first point of contact for resolving any challenges faced in store while on duty or if the store manager is unreachable. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for having full line of sight in regard to managing operational store activities.
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for managing operational store activities that include, but aren't limited to
- Championing team members to foster a progressive, energetic, and collaborative team environment
- Guiding and developing team members to exceed in their role
- Ensuring quality and consistency of service delivery
- Adhering to regulatory protocols at all levels of operation
- Communicating with team members in supervisory roles to help plan work schedules
- Participating in audits and collaborating with government inspectors to maintain regulatory adherence
- Assisting in reporting of store financials and metrics
- Staying on trend of new and existing technologies in the cannabis accessories space
- Build positive community relationships
- Be a positive brand ambassador
- Continuous education and have a full understanding of our assortment
- Assisting training and developing team members
- Complete transactions, owing the entire path to purchase
- Adhere to regulations, compliance, standards, and best practices to achieve desired results
- Inventory Management
- Maintain the integrity of the location, assuring safety and cleanliness are top of mind
- Drive performance, comprehensive understanding of KPI's
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years in supervisor capacity assisting running a high volume/high traffic retail store or restaurant
- Proven track record of strong, established business relationships with key suppliers, clients, business associates and stakeholders
- Ability to motivate, inspire, and coach employees
- Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Cannabis Industry
- Understanding of the ACGO and OCS processes and procedures
- Strong understanding and management of key retail KPI’s
- Experience prioritizing tasks and setting action plans to achieve business targets
- Ability to monitor workloads and create a safe and productive team atmosphere
- Strategic thinking and analytic problem solver
- Agile leadership in a dynamic environment
- Results orientated
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and/or Google Docs and/or OneDrive
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service industry
- Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment

Additional Requirements:
*Completion of CannSell certification upon offer
*Successful completion of criminal background check
*Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends as required
*Must be a minimum age of 19 years old
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Salary: $19.50-$20.50 per hour
