On a typical day:
- Transporting adults who experience intellectual disabilities to and from their home, placements, outings or OTEC. Lift and transfer of individuals with physical disabilities (with assistance from other staff) may be required.
- Cleaning vehicles, topping up all vehicle fluids, regular maintenance checks and coordinating oil changes, tire rotations/seasonal changes, etc.
- Tracking daily mileage.
- Providing updates throughout the day as needed.
- Always promote safety and well-being, ensuring a secure environment for participants.
- Help build a cohesive team by participating in team meetings, events and fundraisers.
- Create a positive and respectful work environment for both participants and coworkers.
- Adhere to OTEC policies and processes.
- Positively promote OTEC and its activities.
About You:
- Minimum of 1 year experience transporting passengers.
- Work schedule: Monday–Thursday is a split shift 6:30 – 9:30 am and 12:00 to 4:00 pm. On Friday: 6:00 am – 3:00 pm.
- Hours are subject to change. Flexibility is required, as occasional work beyond scheduled hours may be necessary.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or vulnerable populations is an asset.
- Knowledge of and adherence to road safety regulations.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to assist passengers with mobility needs, including those using wheelchairs or other aids.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; courteous and respectful manner with participants, families, and staff.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Flexible, able to adapt to changing operational needs.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
- First Aid, CPR, Criminal Record Check and SD are required upon hiring.
We Offer:
- 6 month contract until the end of December.
- Full time 75 hours biweekly.
