Title: Shipper/Receiver
Salary: $18.71 to $22.01 per hour
Position Summary
This role is responsible for ensuring the seamless processing of outgoing and incoming shipments. The shipper / receiver will be responsible for efficiently and accurately selecting, shipping, and receiving parts, material, and equipment. The qualified candidate will require to operate a forklift to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing, and unpacking
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents
- Record shortages and reject damaged goods
- Unpack incoming goods to appropriate storage area
- Prepare Bills of Lading and other shipping documents and associated reports and logs
- Record all inventory discrepancies to appropriate personnel
- Maintain clean, efficient, and safe working area – knowledge of 5S considered an asset
Qualifications
- Valid forklift license
- 3 – 5 years shipping and receiving experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- The ability to work well independently and as a team member
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of filling out waybills
- Working knowledge of safe packing methods
- Knowledge of using computers or other database systems. Capable of using Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- TDG certification would be considered an asset.
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs without assistance
- High school education or equivalent
- Familiar with WHIMS and hazardous goods
