THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead / Assistant Manager who thrives in a fast-paced food & bakery environment. You'll be a key figure on the floor — leading your team, driving operational excellence, and ensuring every single guest leaves with a smile.
This is a leadership role for someone who doesn't just manage — they inspire.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

✔ Guest Experience — You are the standard-bearer. You model exceptional hospitality and hold your team to the same level.
✔ Team Leadership — Recruit, onboard, train, cross-train, schedule, and develop a high-performing team.
✔ P&L Awareness — Understand labour costs, food costs, waste, and sales targets. You know how the numbers connect to daily decisions.
✔ Staffing & Scheduling — Build efficient schedules that balance team wellbeing with business needs.
✔ Training & Development — Create a culture of learning. Coach, mentor, and elevate everyone around you.
✔ Hiring & Offboarding — Play an active role in interviewing, selecting, and when necessary, managing departures professionally and with dignity.
✔ Daily Operations — Open/close, manage the floor, troubleshoot, and keep everything running smoothly across bakery, café, hot table, Produce, grocery sections.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a bakery, café, restaurant, or similar food service environment (REQUIRED)
- Proven understanding of P&L, labour cost management, and operational KPIs
- Strong scheduling and staffing experience
- A genuine passion for food and outstanding guest experiences
- Experience conducting interviews, onboarding, training, and performance conversations
- Ability to lead with empathy, confidence, and accountability
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Comfortable working mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)
