About Us:
Hewson Brothers Building Supply is a building supply company with locations in Cambridge, Brantford, and Niagara Ontario. We specialize in the delivery of drywall, steel, insulation, ceiling tile, and other building materials. We work closely with contractors and industry professionals to support residential and commercial construction projects.
Position Overview:
The Inside Sales and CSR work closely with the Outside Sales team to support sales activities, customer service, and project coordination. This role plays a key part in preparing quotations, managing orders, maintaining accurate pricing, and supporting customer satisfaction.
This is a full-time, on-site position reporting to the Operations Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Receive and process customer orders from quote to fulfillment
- Assist customers by running the front desk and answering incoming phone calls
- Serve as a primary point of contact for walk-in customers, contractors, and vendors
- Coordinate customer orders and communicate expected delivery timelines
- Work closely with the outside sales team to support customer needs and deliveries
- Assist customers with product information, pricing, and order inquiries
- Check stock availability and coordinate transfers or special orders when required
- Coordinate purchasing for customer orders
- Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge
- Assist with scheduling deliveries and dispatch coordination when required
- Perform general office and administrative duties
- Support order desk functions and daily operational activities
- Update job knowledge through product training and educational opportunities
- Follow company safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous customer service or inside sales experience preferred
- Experience in the building supply or construction industry considered an asset
- General knowledge of building materials and supplies preferred
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn internal systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Forklift certification considered an asset
- 3–5 years of related industry experience preferred
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
