Position: Yard Operator (Forklift, Telehandler & Crane Experience)
Location: Pembroke, ON
Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday to Saturday
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour starting (based on experience)
One of our clients is seeking a reliable and experienced Yard Labourer / Outside Operator to join an industrial yard operation. This role involves operating heavy equipment such as telehandlers, forklifts, and cranes, as well as supporting material handling and yard organization. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, physically capable, and experienced working in outdoor industrial environments.
Responsibilities
· Operate telehandlers and forklifts to safely move, load, and unload materials within the yard
· Assist with outdoor crane operations, including lifting and positioning heavy materials
· Perform yard organization and material staging to ensure efficient workflow
· Operate or assist with shunt trucks for internal yard movement of materials
· Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
· Follow all health and safety procedures and report hazards or concerns
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment
· Work effectively as part of a team with minimal supervision
Qualifications
· 2–3 years of experience operating telehandlers, forklifts, or similar heavy equipment
· Valid forklift certification required (telehandler experience strongly required)
· Crane operation experience is considered a strong asset
· Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
· Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
· Experience with shunt truck operation
· Experience in industrial yard, construction, or steel/material handling environments
· Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment checks
· Heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required
