Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Licensed Optician Part Time to join our dynamic optical team. Duties
- Assist customers in selecting eyewear that fits their style, prescription needs, and lifestyle preferences
- Measure and fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical products accurately
- Educate clients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care using clear, professional communication
- Process sales transactions efficiently using retail point-of-sale systems such as Epic or similar platforms
- Verify prescriptions and ensure all eyewear meets safety and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized optical area while adhering to health and safety protocols
- Collaborate with optometrists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery
- Actively involve in continuous learning opportunities provided by the company.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Optician with current certification in good standing
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to vision care and optical products
- Laboratory experience for fitting, adjusting, and repairing eyewear is highly desirable
- Optical experience in a retail setting or optical laboratory preferred
- Proven sales skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and product knowledge
- Familiarity with retail management systems such as Epic or similar software platforms
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly and professionally
