Admissions Advisor

The Institute of Machine Tool Technology (IMTT) is a leading career college specializing in hands-on training for the manufacturing and skilled trades industry. We are looking for a motivated and technically knowledgeable Student Counsellor / Admissions Advisor to guide prospective students in choosing the right career path while achieving enrollment goals.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical knowledge with sales and relationship-building to help students launch successful careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct campus tours and provide professional guidance to prospective students.
- Convert walk-in inquiries, campus tours, and leads into student enrollments.
- Present IMTT's CNC Machining and Appliance Service Technician (AST) programs with confidence and technical accuracy.
- Understand each student's career goals and recommend the most suitable training program.
- Answer questions related to curriculum, career opportunities, tuition, financial assistance, and graduate employment.
- Follow up with prospective students through phone calls, emails, and text messages to maximize enrollments.
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM and consistently achieve enrollment targets.
- Work closely with the admissions and marketing teams to improve lead conversion and student experience.
Qualifications
- Engineering background (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics, or a related discipline preferred).
- Strong understanding of CNC machining, manufacturing processes, and CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam and SolidWorks.
- Previous experience in admissions, education consulting, technical sales, manufacturing, business development, or customer-facing roles is an asset.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Comfortable presenting to individuals and small groups.
- Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven with the ability to meet enrollment targets.
Preferred Candidate
The ideal candidate is passionate about manufacturing, skilled trades, and helping students achieve their career goals. You have the ability to simplify technical concepts, build trust with prospective students, and confidently guide them through the admissions process. An engineering background combined with strong sales or customer service experience will be considered a significant asset.
