We are opening a new handyman division, to cater to the smaller everyday jobs that we receive, but do not have the time for. We offer training, tools, and a vehicle to support our technicians that will help with small maintenance, installations, and repairs for our clients. There will be opportunities to help out or join the main team.
Role Description This is an on-site, contract General Laborer role located in Concord, ON. The Technician will visit scheduled clients in a company vehicle and provide the requested services with the materials and tools provided by Buildman. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, replacing small lighting or electrical fixtures, hanging items such as paintings, small drywalling, taping, painting, etc.
Qualifications
- Experience performing general construction or renovation tasks, including site preparation, material handling, and basic use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow directions, problem solving, time-management, and organization are imperative for a Buildman technician
- Strong awareness of workplace safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety procedures.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to required weights, standing for extended periods, bending, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to the Concord, ON job site and availability to work the required schedule for the duration of the contract.
- Good communication and customer service skills are a great asset, interaction and problem solving with clients is crucial for the role.
- Previous experience on residential construction sites and familiarity with custom home or renovation projects is an asset.
Requirements
- Valid G level driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Criminal background check
- 2+ years in construction and related fields
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 kg / 50 pounds
- WSIB requirements will be discussed upon selection of candidate
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
