Job Overview
We are seeking an Executive Chef with an extensive background leading and managing a high-performing kitchen team in a fast-paced environment in both a restaurant and banquet facility setting. The ideal candidate will be skilled in menu development, food preparation, inventory management, and maintaining food quality and safety standards. You have expertise in creating traditional and modern Indian and Italian dishes. As the Executive Chef you will be responsible for ensuring efficient kitchen operations, staff training, and customer satisfaction. Strong leadership, organizational, and cost-control abilities with a passion for delivering outstanding dining experiences is a must.
Responsibilities
- Estimating amount and costs of supplies and food items.
- Estimating labour costs.
- Maintaining records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
- Analyzing operating costs and other data.
- Demonstrating new cooking techniques and new equipment to kitchen staff.
- Supervising activities of cooks and other kitchen team employees.
- Creating new recipes.
- Instructing cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.
- Preparing and cooking food on a regular basis for our restaurant and special functions in our banquet facility.
- Requisitioning food and kitchen supplies.
- Consulting with clients regarding weddings and other speciality functions.
- Planning menus and ensuring food meets the highest quality standards.
- Supervising the activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks.
- Training the kitchen team in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
- Leading and instructing a team of 5-10 people.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience in a kitchen managerial role as an Executive Chef or similar position.
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive work environment.
- Demonstrated experience in kitchen management including inventory control, budgeting, and staffing.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and sanitation regulations.
- Previous restaurant experience within the food industry is essential.
- Experience cooking high quality Indian and Italian cuisine.
- Exceptional leadership qualities with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $62,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
