Dycar Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is seeking Room Reset/Sanitation Associates for our cannabis cultivation and production facility located in beautiful Cranbrook, British Columbia. The Sanitation Associates are responsible for ensuring cultivation aeroponic equipment and rooms are cleaned and sanitized in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with standard operating procedures, Health Canada guidelines, and applicable safety regulations.
This is a full-time hourly position; currently Monday to Friday, 7:30AM to 4:30PM, however schedule may vary with business needs.
Dycar’s Mission: Work together effectively with fun and integrity to create value as a producer of premium cannabis for medical export markets.
Responsibilities
- Clean and perform maintenance/sanitation on Cultivation area equipment and workspaces
- Reset and prepare grow rooms for re-loading with plants after harvest
- Ensure facility remains clean, safe and orderly in accordance with facility standard operating procedures.
- Cleaning and sanitizing activities in production areas including but not limited to grow rooms, hallways and dry rooms
- Cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and tools.
- Completing applicable forms, logs and other documentation as per standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) and other applicable regulations regarding chemical products.
- Responsible for inventory control of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and cleaning supplies.
- Assist with grow activities including but no limited to plant maintenance, cloning and harvesting.
- Assist with processing activities including product drying, trimming and packaging.
- Assist with cannabis destruction activities.
- Other duties as required to support facility operations.
Skills & Abilities
- Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to follow strict standard operating procedures and quality protocols.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable, able to work independently or be self-motivated.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Health Canada security clearance is considered an asset
Education & Experience
- Experience working in a regulated environment is an asset (food, health care, or pharmaceutical manufacturing)
- Candidates with experience in a previous sanitation or cleaning position will be given preference.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for an 8-hour shift period, including but not limited to: standing, walking, bending/reaching/scrubbing (repetitive), pushing/pulling, lifting (up to 20 KG), working at heights from ladders/scaffold and squatting.
- Ability to work in environments with warm temperature and high humidity, wet environments, and environments with variable lighting (from very bright to dark).
- Ability to wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to medical gloves, scrubs, safety footwear, safety eyewear, face masks, respirators, and hair/beard nets.
- Ability to frequently work with cleaning products including, but not limited to, H2O2 and isopropyl alcohol.
- This position will involve exposure to cannabis/plant materials and is therefore not suitable for anyone that suffers from allergies to cannabis or dust, or for anyone that experiences medical issues such as asthma or hay fever as a result of exposure to cannabis/plant materials
