Kingston, ON Wanted: Part time music director for Crossroads United Church (12 hours weekly). Duties involve playing for weekly services, directing a small but enthusiastic and faithful senior choir and attending monthly Worship Committee meetings. Our instruments include a 2 manual Rogers electronic organ, a Yamaha piano and a 2 octave set of hand chimes. Additional in house musicians include clarinet and flute players. Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct rehearsals for various musical ensembles, ensuring that all members are engaged and performing at their best.
- Write and arrange music as needed for performances.
- Communicate effectively with musicians, staff, and community members to promote a collaborative environment.
- Organize and oversee performances, ensuring all logistical aspects are managed smoothly.
- Evaluate the progress of musicians and provide constructive feedback to foster growth.
- Promote the organization’s mission and programs within the community.
Skills
- Strong public speaking abilities to effectively communicate.
- Proficient in educating choir members of varying skill levels.
- Excellent writing skills for composing music arrangements and program notes.
