EVENING SHIFT MACHINIST POSITION
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist to join our team on our evening shift. Our ideal candidate is a versatile machinist who values craftmanship, works with precision and possesses high mechanical aptitude. Every day you will work on new, custom, and unique machining projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. For over 100 years, Muzeen & Blythe Ltd. has been a leader in the fabrication of custom-built equipment, manufacturing of specialized replacement parts and equipment maintenance services across virtually every industry.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Machining of metal components from technical drawings using lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, drill presses and band saws
· Calculate dimensions and tolerances, lay out workpieces, and verify accuracy using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers and gauges
· Planning and setup of machining jobs based on an existing customer sample part or drawing
· Ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers
· Follow all safety regulations
· Clean and maintain work area
· Maintain quality standards
· Work overtime as required to support company objectives
· Perform other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· 5+ years of experience with manual machining on both milling machines and lathes
· Experience operating CNC machines (experience with HAAS machines is an asset)
· Experience with CNC setup and programming with Mastercam software is an asset
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
· Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
WAGES AND BENEFITS:
· From $35 per hour based on amount of relevant training/experience (additional pay for CNC setup skills)
· Evening shift premium (37.5 work week but paid for 40 hours per week)
· Evening shift is 4 pm to 12 am, Monday to Friday
