Position Profile
The Development Officer supports the planning, implementation, and administration of fundraising activities and donor engagement initiatives. This role assists with donor relations, fundraising campaigns, communications, events, grant support, sponsorship activities, and database management while helping to build strong relationships with community partners, donors, volunteers, and stakeholders.
Role Overview
Responsibilities:

Support fundraising strategies, donor engagement initiatives, events, and partnership activities.

Coordinate, organize and administer support for social media, marketing and communications.

Provide administrative and operational support to the fundraising team, including scheduling, correspondence, tracking, and coordination.

Coordinate donor correspondence and relations and stewardship activities, including acknowledgments, personalized communications, thank you letters and follow-ups.

Prepare donor and grant profiles, proposals, reports, meeting packages, and other fundraising materials.

Conduct donor, grant, and community research using appropriate databases, the internet and other research tools to identify funding and engagement opportunities.

Maintain accurate donor records, including data entry, reporting, and information management.

Serve as an ambassador by attending events in the community when requested to share the organization’s mission impact and encourage involvement.

Track fundraising and grant progress, monitor timelines, and provide regular updates.

Assist with cross-departmental coordination, including collaboration with Finance, internal stakeholders, volunteers, and community partners.

All other duties as required.
Qualifications

Post-secondary education in fundraising, non-profit management, communications, marketing, business administration, or a related field.

A customer service mindset that aims to elevate the brand and reputation of our client at all times.

Excellent interpersonal skills that includes managing and supporting relationships with all collaborators, including donors, sponsors, volunteers, staff and community partners.

Minimum 1–3 years of experience in fundraising, non-profit administration, event coordination, or donor relations preferred.

Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is considered an asset.

Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Canva and donor database/CRM systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail.

A valid Ontario’s full G Driver’s License is required, with a clean driver’s abstract. A $2,000,000 minimum liability car insurance coverage is also mandatory.

Completion of a successful Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check will be a condition of employment.
