About Bloom Academy
Bloom Academy is a growing online learning community offering engaging tutoring and enrichment classes for kids and teens. We partner with passionate, specialized instructors who help students build confidence, sharpen creative and technical skills, and develop genuine curiosity in a warm, supportive environment.
Our teachers are the heart of what we do — and we're looking for the next great one to join us.
The Opportunity
We're hiring an engaging Biology Instructor to teach live online classes and tutoring sessions for kids and teens. This role is about making biology come alive — helping students understand the living world, build strong fundamentals, and develop genuine curiosity about how life works, from cells to ecosystems.
We're looking for an instructor who can meet students wherever they are — whether that's a younger learner exploring science for the first time, a middle-schooler building core concepts, or a high-schooler preparing for exams and tackling more advanced material.
What You'll Do
- Teach live, interactive online biology lessons and tutoring sessions for middle and high school students
- Build strong foundations across core biology topics (cells, genetics, ecology, human anatomy and physiology, evolution, and more)
- Break down complex concepts into clear, age-appropriate, engaging explanations
- Support students with homework help, exam prep, and deeper enrichment
- Use hands-on examples, visuals, and real-world connections to bring science to life
- Teach one-on-one lessons and/or small-group classes of approximately 2–3 students
- Create a positive, structured, and encouraging virtual classroom
- Adapt lessons to each student's grade level, learning style, and goals
- Provide thoughtful feedback that helps students build confidence and skill
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of biology and the ability to teach it clearly across grade levels
- Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring children and/or teens
- The ability to make science engaging, approachable, and fun for young learners
- Additional science or subject-area strengths are a strong plus — many of our best instructors teach more than one subject (for example chemistry, physics, or general science)
- Confident and engaging on camera
- Clear, warm communicator
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- A relevant degree in biology, chemistry, a life science, science education, or a related field is preferred
- Experience creating project-based lessons or curriculum is a plus
Why Teach With Bloom
- Flexible scheduling
- 100% remote
- Opportunity to build long-term relationships with students and families
- Potential to teach across multiple subjects if you have additional specializations
- Be part of a mission-driven team that genuinely cares about student growth

Application question(s):
- Do you have experience teaching or mentoring children or teens? Please describe.

- Are you comfortable teaching small-group classes of approximately 2–3 students, as well as one-on-one sessions?
- Please give us your specific weekly availability — actual days and time blocks. For example: "Mondays and Wednesdays 3–7pm, Saturdays 9am–1pm." Please don't answer "open" or "flexible" — even if your schedule is wide open, list the specific windows you could realistically commit to each week.
