Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting a 309A Licensed Electrician on behalf of our client in Scarborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with experience in both residential and commercial electrical work. The successful candidate will be responsible for installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with Ontario electrical codes.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial environments.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Install electrical wiring, panels, breakers, lighting systems, outlets, and other electrical components.
- Perform service upgrades, renovations, and new construction electrical installations.
- Diagnose electrical issues and implement effective, code-compliant solutions.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
- Test electrical systems and equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and workplace safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and materials used.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Valid G-class driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
Qualifications
- A valid 309A Electrician License is required for this role.
- Minimum 1 year and above of experience as a licensed electrician.
- Hands-on experience with both commercial and residential electrical projects.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Experience working on renovation projects or upgrading existing electrical infrastructure is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Additional handyman skills or general construction experience are considered assets.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Willingness to work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
