Peak Sleep Clinic is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our ever-expanding network of sleep clinics acting as a Sleep Respiratory Therapist/ Sleep Tech in Okotoks. Reporting to the Clinical manager, the Sleep Respiratory Therapist/ Sleep Tech is an integral part of our sleep clinic helping provide individualized care and follow-up to our patients.
The individual(s) selected for the position will be responsible for performing quality testing and assessments as well as providing education for patients with a wide range of respiratory disorders. The role frequently requires close communication with administrative staff, Clinical Managers, and the Director of Clinical Services/Education. Training will be provided.
Please Note: This position is part-time with potential to move to full-time.

- Your strong organizational skills anchor our sleep department and keep the flow of patients moving.
- You act as a great representative of Peak Sleep to the various referring clinics throughout Alberta.
- Your strong communication skills help keep our physicians, administrative staff, and Respiratory Therapists up to date on patient progress and concerns.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Prepare diagnostic devices for Level 3 sleep studies including initialization of devices, downloading devices after each study, and cleaning/maintenance checks.
- Troubleshoot equipment and contact appropriate technical support to ensure proper function of Level 3 sleep study devices.
- Provide education/instruction regarding Level 3 sleep studies.
- Quality testing/assessments including proper coaching and appropriate charting/documentation.
- Ability and knowledge to respond to critical values on testing.
- Guide patients to fill out forms including questionnaires, insurance information, customer agreements, etc. and transfer information to EMR and Sleep diagnostics software.
- Initiating patients on CPAP therapy.
- Provide education on sleep apnea and prescribed therapy as well as follow-up with patients as needed
- Perform proper mask fitting for patients requiring CPAP therapy.
- Responsible for some patient bookings using EMR, calls to discuss patient results, follow-up patient care calls, and calling insurance companies regarding patient coverage.
- Help maintain inventory levels of products and notify Warehouse Manager and Clinical manager when required.
- Responsible to help create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Enter chart notes and patient information into EMR (patient vitals, symptoms, history and other medical information as applicable).
- Effective communication with RTs, Sleep Techs, Clinical Assistants, Physicians, administrative staff, Managers and Directors.
- Assist in training of new Sleep Therapists as required.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and or CPSGT/RPSGT certification required.
- Experience in Sleep Therapy is an asset.
- Current Heart and Stroke HCP BLS is required.
- First Aid Training and WHMIS Certifications are an asset.
- Experience with patient insurance documentation and submissions are an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Experience with previous EMR use is an asset.
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
- Ability to travel to various locations.
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal, reliable vehicle.
