Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our team and take on immediate client responsibility. This is not an entry-level position as we need someone who can work independently from day one, manage multiple client files, and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for assigned client portfolio
- Record and categorize financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
- Maintain general ledgers and prepare trial balances
- Complete sales tax remittance forms, payroll remittances, and other government filings
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
- Communicate directly with clients regarding their financial questions and reporting needs
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience
- Requirement to be on-site in Kingston, Ontario
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online (mandatory)
- Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping, or equivalent professional training
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Experience managing multiple client files simultaneously
- Solid knowledge of Canadian tax requirements and remittance procedures
- Excellent attention to detail with proven accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Professional communication skills for client interaction
Preferred Qualifications
- QuickBooks Online certification
- Experience in a bookkeeping firm or multi-client environment
- Knowledge of other accounting software platforms (Xero, Sage, etc.)

Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
