HR Generalist (People & Operations)
We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive HR Generalist to support our growing operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing people, process, and data. You’ll play a key role in supporting employees, leaders, and owner-operators, ensuring our HR practices are compliant, efficient, and contribute to a strong, connected culture.
What You’ll Do
HR & Employee Relations
- Support employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns
- Apply and interpret BC Employment Standards Act in day-to-day decisions
- Ensure consistent, fair, and compliant HR practices
Recruitment & Coordination
- Coordinate end-to-end hiring (postings, screening, scheduling, offers)
- Support leaders with efficient and structured hiring processes
Payroll & HR Operations
- Support payroll processing with the goal of owning the function over time
- Maintain accurate employee data and support HR systems
- Partner with Finance to ensure accuracy and timelines
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Track key metrics like headcount vs. revenue, turnover, and payroll trends
- Provide simple, actionable insights to support business decisions
WorkSafeBC & Safety
- Support claims, incident reporting, and return-to-work processes with WorkSafeBC
- Help maintain a safe and compliant work environment
Health & Safety Committee Oversight
- Establish and maintain internal health & safety committee
- Provide oversight of the Health and Safety Committee, ensuring clear ownership, effective functioning, and compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
Culture & Employee Experience
- Lead monthly/quarterly internal communications:
- Work anniversaries, birthdays
- “Cheers for Peers” recognition
- Support simple, meaningful engagement initiatives
Owner-Operator & Documentation Support
- Assist with development and updates to the Owner-Operator Handbook
- Ensure clarity between employee and contractor (owner-operator) practices
- Support documentation that reflects operational realities
What You Bring
- 3–5+ years of HR Generalist experience
- Strong knowledge of BC employment legislation
- Experience in employee relations and recruitment
- Exposure to payroll (or strong interest in owning it)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working with data and identifying trends
- Bonus: experience in logistics, transportation, or contractor/owner-operator environments
Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
Work Location: Remote
