Job Summary
Chuck's Bar and Grill Arnprior is seeking for a professional, high-energy bartender and Server with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. The bartender and Server will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.
To succeed as a bartender and/or Server, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.
Duties
- Greet customers in a happy, upbeat manner as they come through the front doors, and set the scene for them to have a good time.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes or take custom orders from patrons to make their drinks how they prefer
- Suggest new drinks to patrons and answer questions about any of the drinks we serve so our customers get just what they want during a visit to our store
- Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations
- Respond quickly to any requests from customers in a professional, polite way that encourages them to open up and spend more time at our location
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area and adhere to all food safety regulations
- Handle cash and credit transactions using a POS system
- Perform monitoring, restocking bar inventory and supplies, Order as needed
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely service
- Guarantee that the bar, glasses and any materials used to mix drinks are clean and displayed in an attractive, functional manner
- Check customer identification to verify age and guarantee they are of legal drinking age to protect the bar from legal action and ensure safe drinking
Experience
- Previous experience in a bartending role
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines and regulations
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with patrons
- Proficiency in basic math for handling transactions
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and food service industry practices
