All positions at The Protestant Separate School Board of the Town of Penetanguishene support the Board’s priority of providing an educational environment that encourages all students to achieve their full potential spiritually, academically, physically, and socially in preparation toward becoming contributing members of society.
ABOUT STEM STUDIO:
STEM Studio is a summer learning program that engages students in hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics experiences. Students participate in collaborative challenges that encourage creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and innovation.
AVAILABLE ASSIGNMENTS:
· Week 1 – Grades 5-6 – Monday, July 13, 2026 to Friday, July 17, 2026
· Week 2 – Grades 3-4 – Monday, July 20, 2026 to Friday, July 24, 2026
Hours are 8:00am – 2:30pm daily

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Support students participating in STEM challenges and collaborative learning activities;
· Assist students with academic, behavioural, social-emotional, and self-regulation needs;
· Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment;
· Supervise students during instructional and outdoor activities;
· Assist with setup, organization, and cleanup of program materials;
· Encourage student participation, independence, and problem-solving;
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor being assisted.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
· 2-year College Diploma/University Degree in Educational Support or a related field (Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker, Teacher Candidate);
· Experience working with elementary-aged students;
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with children, adolescents, and families;
· Proven ability and skill in working as a member of a team;
· Knowledge of STEM-related learning activities is considered an asset.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
· New employees to the PSSBP are required, by legislation, to submit a satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
