Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Licensed Optician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist with frame selection, and ensure accurate lens fitting. This role requires a strong understanding of optical products and excellent communication skills to help clients achieve optimal vision correction. The Licensed Optician will play a key role in delivering personalized eye care experiences while supporting the overall operations of our optical practice.
Duties
- Greet patients and assist them in selecting eyewear that suits their style, needs, and budget
- Take precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame adjustments
- Verify prescriptions and help customers understand their eyewear options
- Conduct basic optical testing and assist with visual assessments as needed
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic health record systems such as Epic
- Perform laboratory tasks such as lens edging, mounting, and quality control to ensure proper fit and function
- Educate patients on lens options, lens coatings, and proper eyewear maintenance
- Support retail sales efforts by promoting frames, lenses, and accessories to maximize customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with the optometry team to deliver comprehensive eye care services

Requirements
- Valid Ontario licensure as an Optician.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care and vision correction
- Experience working in retail sales or sales-driven environments, especially within optical or healthcare settings
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Optosys is an asset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and engage patients effectively
- Retail management experience is a plus for candidates interested in growth opportunities within the practice
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Customer-focused attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
Pay: $27.50-$31.25 per hour
