Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Truck Mechanic to join our team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with automotive and industrial machinery, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with dealership operations, heavy equipment, and electrical systems is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, HVAC systems, and more.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment using hand tools, power tools, and schematics.
- Conduct electrical system troubleshooting and repairs on various vehicle components.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment for maintenance or repair purposes.
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed to ensure proper functioning of vehicles and machinery.
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures, including heavy lifting and working with hazardous materials.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of mechanical systems during repairs or upgrades.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair needs and timelines.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential issues before they develop into major problems.
Experience
- Proven journeyman mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and heavy equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, welding techniques, electrical schematics, and industrial equipment operation is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems involving assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a variety of work environments.
- Strong understanding of maintenance procedures for both internal combustion engines and electric systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer service-oriented approach to client interactions. This position requires a dedicated professional capable of handling diverse mechanical tasks while maintaining safety standards across all operations.
