Position Overview: As an Intermediate Civil Technician/Technologist at WWK Engineering, you will play a crucial role in supporting our civil engineering projects. You will work closely with our engineers and project managers to ensure the successful planning, design, and execution of various civil engineering endeavors. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and dedication to quality will be essential in helping us achieve our goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of engineers, EITs and technicians to produce engineering designs and drawings that surpass our client’s expectations and industry standards.
- Actively engage with project teams and clients to meet project objectives and deadlines.
- Integrate survey data and coordinate design inputs utilizing software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS.
- Create site grading plans, profiles, utility systems and road layouts.
- Perform quantity calculations and basic cost estimates.
- Draft and model piping systems for water, storm water and waste water infrastructure.
- Support preparation of tender drawings, contract documents and administrative tasks such as RFI’s, site inspections, and as-builts.
Qualifications:
- Meticulous and committed to delivering high-quality work.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential.
- Experience with GIS software is an asset (QGIS or ArcGIS)
- Sound knowledge of civil design, construction standards and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
- Eligibility for ASTTBC designation.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferably in an engineering consulting environment.
