Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Excavation Foreman (Operator) to lead earthworks crews on active construction sites. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on excavation knowledge, and the ability to manage crews while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a crew of operators, laborers, and subcontractors
- Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within project specifications and budget
- Coordinate multiple earthwork scopes across projects
- Work closely with General Superintendent (scheduling, job costing, etc.)
- Liaise with client/site representatives
- Lead daily/weekly safety meetings
- Direct crews to maximize productivity and quality
Requirements
- 3–5+ years supervisory experience in civil construction
- Strong knowledge of excavation
- Ability to read and interpret site plans
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license required
- Condition 15 endorsement considered an asset
- Excavator operator experience considered an asset

Experience:
- Civil Supervisor: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
