Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in preparing accurate project bids, analyzing project costs, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project execution. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction projects within a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced estimating tools and techniques. The Estimator will be instrumental in driving profitable project outcomes through precise pricing and effective negotiation skills.
Duties
- Prepare detailed construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements using tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Develop comprehensive project budgets, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms to secure competitive bids.
- Utilize project management principles to coordinate estimate development with scheduling and resource planning.
- Review and refine estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Assist in the review of contract documents and scope of work to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, correspondence, and supporting documentation for future reference.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new estimating software to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills to effectively discuss pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
- Excellent project management abilities with attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret blueprints, and prepare precise cost estimates.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients.
