39 Country Initiative is seeking two highly motivated summer students to support a targeted outreach initiative in Nigeria as part of their mission. Nigeria, with a population of approximately 238 million and over 300 universities, represents a significant opportunity to expand access to case-based learning. The 39 Country Initiative provides free access to Ivey Publishing teaching content for university faculty in the 47 countries to use with their students. Working collaboratively, students will focus on identifying, researching, and engaging business and management programs across Nigerian higher education institutions to increase adoption of Ivey cases.
We are seeking a summer student International Outreach Coordinator to lead engagement efforts in these underserved countries. The primary goal of this role is to initiate contact with leading universities, encourage adoption of Ivey cases, and establish early institutional participation that can drive broader uptake within each country.
Key Responsibilities
- Targeted University Outreach
- Identify and prioritize leading universities in countries not yet actively engaged by the 39 Country Initiative
- Conduct outreach to institutional leadership (e.g., Deans, Program Directors, faculty leads)
- Introduce Ivey Publishing and communicate opportunities for free access to case materials
- Market Entry & Engagement Strategy
- Focus on establishing initial adoption at major universities to encourage broader national uptake
- Adapt outreach strategies to diverse regional contexts, including:
- Countries with limited infrastructure or difficult access
- Francophone regions with fewer translated materials
- Countries where English or French is not the primary language
- Communication & Relationship Management
- Manage ongoing correspondence with institutions across multiple countries
- Respond to inquiries and provide clear guidance on registration and use of Ivey materials
- Conduct follow-ups to convert interest into active participation
- Registration & Adoption Support
- Guide institutions through the Ivey Publishing registration process
- Encourage faculty engagement even in the absence of in-person workshops
- Promote the use of available online teaching materials
- Data Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts, institutional responses, and registration progress
- Track engagement metrics and identify trends across regions
- Provide regular updates on progress toward institutional and faculty engagement targets
Qualifications:
Education:
- Must be a student returning to studies in the fall with interest in international education, business, or development initiatives
Experience:
- Strong research and analytical skills, with ability to locate hard-to-find information
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Excellent written communication skills (professional email writing required)
- High level of persistence, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage repetitive tasks and long-term follow-ups
- Comfortable working with large datasets (Excel or similar tools)
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Written and verbal communication skills to express ideas clearly, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
