Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Roofing Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with roofing projects, ensuring safety, and supporting skilled tradespeople in completing high-quality roofing installations and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, and possess a willingness to learn new skills related to roofing and construction.
Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools
- Carry and position roofing materials such as shingles, underlayment, and flashing on job sites
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment to support roofing operations
- Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to ensure accurate installation
- Use caulking tools for sealing joints and seams to ensure waterproofing integrity
- Support carpenters and other tradespeople with framing, framing support, or other construction tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries on the job site
Requirements
- Prior construction experience or handyman skills are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, utility knives, and caulking guns
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading is a plus
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety procedures and detail orientation
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods in outdoor conditions
- Experience with carpentry or roofing is advantageous but not required
- Reliable transportation to job sites; ability to work in various weather conditions is necessary
Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour
