Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Milker to join our 400 cow dairy in central Alberta. (30 min North of Calgary) The ideal candidate will be responsible for milking of dairy livestock, ensuring high-quality milk production while maintaining animal health and safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic farm environment, contributing to sustainable dairy operations. Applicants should possess a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and an interest in farm management and animal care.
Duties
- Operate milking equipment safely and efficiently to extract milk from dairy animals
- Monitor animal health and behavior during the milking process, reporting any abnormalities
- Maintain and clean milking equipment and facilities regularly
- Follow safety protocols when operating heavy machinery and farm equipment
- Assist with other farm duties such as feeding, cleaning pens, or caring for livestock as required
- Experience
- Previous experience in dairy farming or livestock handling is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with farm machinery operation is a plus, along with mechanical knowledge for basic repairs.
- Physical strength for standing or walking during shifts
- Strong attention to detail in animal care, hygiene standards, and equipment operation
- Ability to follow safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment
