Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled and calculate the amount of materials needed
- Prepare surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, or adhesive
- Mix and apply mortar or other adhesives to secure tiles in place
- Cut, shape, and trim tiles to fit around obstacles and into corners using hand tools or tile saws
- Align and straighten tiles using levels, squares, and straightedges
- Apply grout between tiles and remove excess grout with sponges or trowels
- Install caulk around edges of tiles to create a watertight seal
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in tile setting
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Tile Setter or similar role
- Knowledge of different tile types, patterns, and installation techniques
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and understanding construction plans
- Strong attention to detail and precision in tile placement
- Ability to use hand tools and tile cutting equipment safely
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
