Overview: The ERP Business Analyst is responsible for supporting end user systems (primarily Oracle JDE E1) and processes across the organization. Primary responsibilities include day-to-day end user problem resolution after systems and processes are implemented, meeting with end-users to understand functional requirements, writing functional requirement documents to be used for development, some JDE/EDI/SharePoint development, testing, and training. Various other business systems also need to be supported. The candidate must have good interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be technically adept.
Locations: Mississauga, ON or Calgary, AB.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Support end user problem resolution – trouble shooting assigned IT tickets (Help Desk). Identifying root causes and solutions for daily transactional errors for users and document problems and resolution for future use (operational support).
· Analyze Tier 1 & 2 business requirements; perform process analysis of customer activities to determine business solutions or process improvement opportunities across business functions and recommend solutions. Oversee and assist with the gathering and documentation of requirements. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of business requirements.
· Training of business users on JD Edwards applications and configurations
· Monitoring and Supporting Interfaces and Integrations with JDE E1 and 3rd-Party bolt-on applications (EDI/Esker).
· Integrating new EDI partners into the JDE environment.
· Generating reports and SQL queries requested by users.
· Reviewing, analyzing, and modify code to support the JD Edwards Enterprise One (E1) as well as other applications (nice to have).
· Developing and executing test plans for new / modified business processes.
· Building, promoting, and deploying JDE E1 Packages.
· Planning, conducting, and directing analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems.
· Partnering with users to identify, evaluate, and develop systems and procedures which are cost effective and meet user requirements.
· Developing test scripts, plans and scenarios. Planning, executing, and documenting results of unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
· Writing functional and data requirements specifications and developing business process flows and data models that define the business needs.
· Developing / maintaining step by step UPK scripts and training documents to facilitate training sessions to transfer knowledge and ownership to team members.
Experience, Qualifications, and Educational Requirements:
· University degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree
· Minimum 3 years of functional experience with an ERP system (preferably with JD Edwards E1 9.x). Functional understanding and experience of Finance and 2 other modules (Distribution, Manufacturing, Sales Management, Warehouse, etc.) is required. Certifications in Oracle JDE E1 will be a plus.
· The willingness to learn additional JDE modules is required; you will be expected to become familiar with multiple modules.
· Members of the IT team are cross-trained and provide support and assistance to each other as needed.
· Strong knowledge of JDE data structure, programs, tables, configuration capabilities, and security (Technical).
· Experience with BI Publisher and/or Data Warehouse reporting tools (Hubble).
· Good understanding of EDI documents including (850, 856 and 810).
· Worked with SharePoint platform – document and content management, and process automation.
· Solid analytical skills with aptitude to translate business requirements to technical solutions. Experience in the food manufacturing and distribution industry will be a plus.
· Project Management (PM) certification or experience will be a plus.
· Advanced knowledge of all standard PC software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) and Microsoft Project, Visio or equivalent other mapping or planning tools.
