Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Child Welfare Manager or designate, the Emergency After Hours Worker is responsible for providing after hours child protection services by performing the Intake duties of receiving reports of abuse and/or neglect and investigating these reports as may be required, in accordance with provisions of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Ministry Regulations and Standards, Abuse Protocols, Risk Assessment Tool and Dilico Anishinabek Family Care policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Applicants must meet at least one of the following:
-
Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Services or a related field considered an asset.

First Nation, Inuit, or Metis (FNIM) Elder, Knowledge Keeper, Healer, Cultural Person, or individual with relevant traditional knowledge and cultural experience.

Currently enrolled in a diploma, certificate, or degree program in Human Services or a related field.

Relevant skills, knowledge, and experience working with children, youth, and families.

Satisfactory Criminal Records Search, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening, satisfactory to Dilico

Required to work flexible hours, travel regularly, and act on an “on-call” basis as determined by the respective Child Welfare Manager in relation to service requirements

Must possess a Class “G” Driver’s Licence, possess a clean driving record and have access to a personal vehicle which will pass a safety inspection.
Hours of Work: The position is based on a as needed basis at your availability and service delivery requirements
