Scava Construction is currently seeking skilled and dedicated construction professionals to join our team. We are now hiring for various roles that involve heavy equipment operation, pipe layers and general labour. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for construction and a strong work ethic to contribute to diverse projects, including demolition, excavation, and water/sewer installation. Candidates with experience operating heavy machinery such excavators, backhoes and skid steers are highly encouraged to apply. A background in commercial driving, posession of required certificates and the ability to read blueprints will be considered advantageous. Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes and skid steers
- Perform site preparation, grading, excavation, and other related activities adhering to project specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with site setup, material handling, and logistical coordination on construction sites.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope while adhering to safety standards.
- Operate commercial vehicles safely for transportation of materials or equipment when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory; relevant driving experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of construction processes including demolition, sewer/water installation, grading, and site excavation.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in a construction environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy loads when necessary.
