Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Head Coach the Technical Specialist-Assistant Coach of the Cheerleading program will assist with day-to-day coaching, performance preparation, and administrative duties. The role focuses on supporting athlete development, practice execution, and performance readiness for games and competitions.
Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain, organize, and distribute practice and performance equipment (e.g., mats, uniforms, stunt gear)

Assist in the preparation and set-up of practices, game-day performances, and competitions

Support the tracking and evaluation of team performances during games and competitions, including noting strengths and areas for improvement

Review and analyze practice footage and performance videos to identify technical and execution improvements
-
Analyze team and athlete performance trends (e.g., stunting, tumbling, choreography execution) and prepare feedback reports for the Head Coach

Support coaching staff in implementing practice plans, choreography, routines, and game-day performance strategies

Assist with teaching and supervising stunts, tumbling, choreography, and sideline engagement while ensuring athlete safety
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
-
Knowledge, demonstrated coaching or instructional skills or previous practical experience in cheerleading (stunting, tumbling, dance, or sideline cheer) or a related discipline (dance, gymnastics, performance sport) is considered a strong asset

Certification in First Aid/CPR; additional safety or coaching certifications are considered an asset

NCCP certification (or equivalent coaching certification) preferred

Strong organizational skills, punctuality, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

High energy, enthusiasm, and ability to motivate student-athletes

Bilingual in French and English.
***Expected to complete mandatory training/course including Safe Sport and CCES Anti-Doping
***Selected candidate must successfully pass their criminal background check.
