At Drama Kids Saint John, we believe confidence grows where children feel safe. We are a fast-growing, developmental drama academy dedicated to helping kids and youth (ages 3–18) find their voices, speak up, and build essential life skills through creative expression.Our unique Drama Kids curriculum features no stage pressure and no auditions—we focus entirely on building confident, clear communicators. We are seeking an enthusiastic, high-energy Lead Drama Instructor to join our team this Fall to inspire and guide our Saint John stars.
The Role
As our Lead Drama Instructor, you are the energy and heart of the classroom. Following our proven, structured curriculum layout, you will deliver fast-paced, hour-long sessions that keep kids active, smiling, and learning. You will create a supportive environment where every child feels accepted, encouraged, and celebrated for their individuality.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Execute the specialized Drama Kids curriculum, leading activities in imaginative storytelling, improvisation, speech, and physical movement.
- High-Energy Engagement: Deliver vibrant, fun-packed lessons that capture student attention and motivate both shy and outgoing children.
- Classroom Management: Maintain an organized, safe, and positive learning space using encouraging, kind, and affirmative reinforcement techniques.
- Progress Tracking: Celebrate student growth week over week, helping children build communication skills, social confidence, and teamwork.
- Community Relations: Act as a friendly primary point of contact for parents at our Saint John venues, fostering strong community relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of experience teaching or leading children (e.g., theater schools, camps, early childhood education, or recreational programs).
- Background: Experience in theater arts, public speaking, acting, or creative performance is highly valued.
- Skills: Exceptional social perceptiveness, high emotional intelligence, loud vocal projection, and a reliable, positive attitude.
- Logistics & Safety: Must have reliable transportation to travel to our Saint John class locations. Must pass a mandatory Vulnerable Sector Background Check.
