We are looking for an IT Asset Management Analyst to join a service-focused team in Thornhill, Ontario. This position blends IT asset management with hands-on desktop support, requiring someone who can oversee equipment throughout its lifecycle while also assisting end users with device setup and technical issues. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate inventory data, support hardware deployment and recovery, and contribute to a reliable and well-organized IT environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of IT equipment, including acquisition, identification, documentation, reassignment, and secure retirement of assets.
- Prepare, image, configure, and deploy desktop and laptop systems, as well as virtual machines, in line with service requests and project timelines.
- Work closely with suppliers and service providers to manage ordering, delivery, repairs, maintenance activities, and end-of-life disposal for devices and peripherals.
- Maintain current and accurate asset information using enterprise tracking platforms and endpoint management tools such as Intune and asset discovery solutions.
- Monitor device locations, status, and condition across the main office and additional sites to support visibility and control of inventory.
- Perform scheduled inventory reviews and audits to verify records, resolve discrepancies, and improve overall asset accuracy.
- Administer software entitlement records by tracking licence allocation and removal to support compliance with vendor terms and internal standards.
- Respond to asset-related tickets and user support requests, including hardware troubleshooting, re-imaging returned devices, and preparing equipment for reuse.
- Assist with device provisioning and collection during employee onboarding, offboarding, and other staffing changes.
- Use Power BI reporting to review asset health, inventory trends, and software usage data to support informed decision-making.
- At least 3 years of experience in IT asset management combined with end-user hardware support in a desktop or service desk environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage PC imaging, device deployment, hardware troubleshooting, and reconditioning of returned equipment.
- Experience maintaining asset inventories and lifecycle records using asset management platforms, discovery tools, and Microsoft Intune.
- Working knowledge of Power BI for tracking assets, reporting on inventory, and analyzing software utilization.
- Familiarity with desktop support technologies and environments, including Microsoft systems, Active Directory, Mac computers, Citrix, and Cisco technologies.
- Strong understanding of hardware asset controls, warranty coordination, repair processes, and secure data disposal practices.
- Ability to organize competing priorities, manage service requests efficiently, and maintain accurate records with a high level of attention to detail.
