Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Respite Workers to provide temporary relief and support to individuals with diverse care needs. Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including hygiene, grooming, and mobility support
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Engage clients in meaningful activities and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and organizing living spaces
- Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to supervising staff
- Follow care plans and document services provided accurately
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all clients
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, complex behaviours environments preferred
- Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patience, empathy, and professionalism
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members
- Ability to handle medication administration responsibly
- Capable of meal preparation tailored to dietary restrictions or preferences
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
